A Bit About Me

I'm a passionate web developer. I believe good UI design leads to great back-end development and vice versa. I'm not a fan of spaghetti code. While developing something in record time is great, spending tons of additional hours trying to update, evolve, and maintain a jumbled mess of programming is not my idea of a day well spent. MVC anyone?

I have become a bit of a Python enthusiast over the last year which isn't to say that PHP doesn't have its place in the web dev world. More recently Django has become the love of my day job. Rails is next in line...

I've been developing and designing web sites and applications for around 3-4 years now. I write standards-compliant front and back end code. I do not blend presentation logic with business logic. I write strict XHTML and CSS and never design with tables!

What I'm Into

Python

experience: 1.1 years

developing browser-based apps in mod_python, mod_wsgi, and more recently Django

Php

experience: 3.0 years

Building browser-based apps. OO PHP 5 and procedural.

Actionscript

experience: 2.2 years

I've been using Flash and ActionScript for a few years. I don't use it too much these days. I'm not a huge fan of 100% Flash-based sites (primarily because of SEO).

Javascript

experience: 3.0 years

This is what I mainly replaced Flash with for developing front-end eye candy. I have experience with jQuery as well as rolling my own AJAX engines.

Ajax

experience: 2.5 years

I prefer to roll my own AJAX but I can easily work with any of the popular library's "batteries included" versions.
